August 30, 2019 – Yaound\u00e9 (Cameroon)<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The handover ceremony between the outgoing Permanent Secretary Professor Doroth\u00e9 C. SOSSA<\/strong> and the incoming Permanent secretary Professor Emmanuel Sibidi DARANKOUM<\/strong> took place on August 30, 2019 in the Conference room of the Permanent Secretary of the Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa.<\/p>\n

This ceremony was chaired by HE Ruth MONTEIRO<\/strong>, Minister of Justice and Human Rights of the Republic of Guinea Bissau. HE Laurent ESSO<\/strong>, State Minister , Minister of Justice of the Republic of Cameroon, Mr. Appolinaire C\u00e9sar ONDO MVE, President of the Common Court of Justice and Arbitration, Professor Mayatta Ndiaye MBAYE, Director-General of the Regional High School of Magistrature (ERSUMA) also attended the handover ceremony.<\/p>\n

Three speeches were delivered on this occasion.<\/p>\n

The outgoing Permanent Secretary in his introductory speech welcomed the Chairperson of the council of ministers and appreciated the distinguished presence of the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Cameroon. He thanked the Council of Ministers of OHADA for the confidence bestowed upon him for more than eight years as the Head of OHADA and expressed his gratitude to the staff for their support. He emphasized that he is handing over a growing organization and wished professor DARANKOUM every success while urging the staff to fully support him to carry out his mission.<\/p>\n

In his address, the incoming Permanent Secretary thanked the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Cameroon and the sitting chairperson of the Council of Ministers for the audience they kindly granted him and indicated that their support would be decissive in the fulfillment of his mission. He paid a well-deserved tribute to the founding fathers of OHADA and to his predecessor and pledged to pursue with dignity the work he began.<\/p>\n

The sitting chairperson of the council of Ministers in his address thanked the outgoing Permanent Secretary for the exemplary work he has accomplished during his two terms as head of our Organization. She urged the incoming Permanent Secretary to keep the flame of OHADA alive and to work for an ever growing outreach of the Organization.<\/p>\n

These speeches were followed by the signing of the handing over note and a power handover between the outgoing Permanent Secretary, professor Doroth\u00e9e Cossi SOSSA and the new Permanent Secretary of OHADA, Professor Emmanuel Sidibi DARANKOUM. An official photo ended the handing over ceremony.<\/p>\n
