Since Tuesday, 18 June 2025, the Club du Lac Tanganyika Hotel in Bujumbura (Burundi) has been hosting a special meeting of OHADA\u2019s Committee of Experts. This special session is devoted to the examination of four draft instruments:\u00a0 the draft model headquarters agreement for OHADA institutions, the draft regulation on the powers, functioning and organisation of the OHADA Council of Ministers, the draft instrument on the functioning of the Conference of Heads of State and Government, and the draft regulation governing the composition, powers and functioning of the OHADA National Commissions.<\/p>\n

The proceedings are being held in the presence of Prof. Mayatta Ndiaye MBAYE, Permanent Secretary of OHADA, Ms Esther MOUTNGUI, President of the Common Court of Justice and Arbitration, and Dr Karel DOGUE, Director General of the Regional Advanced School of Magistracy. The choice of Bujumbura as the venue ties up with the momentum build-up towards closer relations with the Republic of Burundi, which has just organised a workshop to validate a study assessing the relevance and advisability of joining OHADA.<\/p>\n
