Brazzaville (Congo), 25 January 2017

On the sidelines of the meeting of the Committee of Experts preparing the 43rd session of the OHADA Council of Ministers, Professor Dorothé C. SOSSA, Permanent Secretary of OHADA signed two important Cooperation Agreements with the African Legal Support Facility (ALSF) and the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA) on Wednesday, 25 January 2017.

The signing of these Agreements took place at the Radisson BLU M'bamou Palace Hotel, following the traditional consultation meeting between Technical and Financial Partners of OHADA, the Permanent Secretary and representatives of the following countries and institutions:

  • the French Republic;
  • the World Bank Group;
  • the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group;
  • the Bank of Central African States (BEAC);
  • the Development Bank of Central African States (BDEAC);
  • the Central African Banking Commission (COBAC);
  • the African Legal Support Facility (ALSF);
  • the Bars’ Conference of OHADA Member States;
  • the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA);
  • the Association for the Unification of Law in Africa (UNIDA).

All the Technical and Financial Partners reiterated their engagement with OHADA and their commitment to support its actions. Various avenues for strengthening cooperation were also considered.

The ALSF was represented by its Chairman and CEO Stephen KARANGIZI, while PAFA was represented by its Chief Executive Officer Dr. Vickson NCUBE. The Agreements will stimulate the synergy between the two organizations and OHADA for the benefit of Member States in the areas of legal capacity building in Africa and strengthening of accounting profession on the African continent.

The Permanent Secretary welcomes the signing of these Cooperation Agreements, which testify to the dynamism of OHADA, its international influence and the growing recognition of its role in consolidating the economic rule of law on the African continent. / -
