Building CIRFIPO’s Capacity: OHADA Consolidates Its Funding MobilisationStrategy

From 17 to 20 February 2026, the Permanent Secretariat organised a training workshop in Libreville (Gabon) for members of the Inter-Institutional Committee for Resource Mobilisation and Project Monitoring (CIRFIPO) of the Organisation for the Harmonisation of Business Law in Africa (OHADA).

Organised with the support of the French Development Agency (AFD), the training aimed to enhance the technical and strategic capacities of Committee members in project design and structuring, identification of technical and financial partners, budget modelling, and the preparation of proposals tailored to donor requirements. It forms part of OHADA’s ongoing efforts to mobilise funding and strengthen the governance of its flagship projects.

The workshop was attended by the Heads of OHADA Institutions and was extended to all staff members at Director level.

At the close of the workshop, the Permanent Secretary expressed the wish that the knowledge gained be swiftly leveraged through the development of robust technical proposals capable of making a meaningful contribution to resource mobilisation for the Organisation and its Member States.

This training on resource mobilisation and fundraising techniques will be replicated by videoconference from 23 to 26 February 2026 for members of the OHADA National Commissions (CNOs). Having previously benefited from in-person training in legislative drafting in Antananarivo (Madagascar), the CNOs—key national stakeholders in advancing legal integration in business law—will continue to strengthen their capacities in order to acquire the skills required to identify, secure and manage funding for flagship projects at the national level.

This training will be followed, in the coming months, by a workshop on international negotiation techniques.
