Computerization of the Cameroon RCCM: Stakeholders Take Stock

On 2 April 2024, the Conference Room of the OHADA Permanent Secretariat hosted a quadripartite meeting between OHADA, the Ministry of Justice of Cameroon, the French Development Agency (AFD) and Ets AFA/Gold Telecom Consortium responsible for supporting the management of the project. The meeting provided an opportunity to review the progress made so far with regard to the achievement of this project sponsored by the French Development Agency and which aims to computerize 30 sites (court registries and business formalities centres) as well as the national trade and personal property credit register (RCCM) in Cameroon.

The project facilitated the acquisition and standardization of necessary equipment for all the sites, to install electrical and computer cabling, and also to train the administrators and users of the RCCM management software solution. Work on the remaining sites is expected to be completed in the coming weeks, with a view to officially handover to the State of Cameroon in June 2024.
