Launch of the 3rd African Arbitration and Mediation Days (JAAM)

The 3rd edition of the African Arbitration and Mediation Days (JAAM) opened on Thursday 25 July 2024 at the Radisson BLU hotel in Libreville (Gabon) on the theme: ‘Contemporary Issues in Arbitration and Mediation in Africa’.

Chaired by Mr Paul-Marie GONDJOUT, Minister of Justice, Keeper of the Seals of the Republic of Gabon, in the presence of the Heads of OHADA Institutions, the opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Gaston KENFACK DOUAJNI (HDR), President of the Association for the  Promotion of Arbitration in Africa (APAA), co-organiser of the 3rd edition of JAAM, and Mr Henri-Claude OYIMA, President of the Fédération des Entreprises du Gabon (FEG), a strategic partner of the event.

The current edition of the JAAM will provide participants with two days of face-to-face and online discussions with speakers on a wide range of topics, including third-party financing in arbitration proceedings and mediation processes, the use of digital technology and artificial intelligence in arbitration, topical issues relating to arbitrability and arbitrators’ jurisdiction, investor-State dispute settlement, etc.
