As part of the celebration of the International Women’s Rights Day 2025 and in response to an invitation from the Association of Women Bailiffs – Auctioneers of Cameroon, OHADA took part in an awareness raising event for women and public decision-makers on the legal mechanisms for the recovery of maintenance claims in Cameroon at the National Museum in Yaoundé on Thursday 6 March 2025. On this occasion, the Service Head for Legal Affairs and Communication at the Permanent Secretariat, Dr Yaovi Bob-Marley LIASSIDJI, gave a gave a presentation on the following topic: “The Recovery of Maintenance Claims in Cameroon: Between Domestic Law and OHADA Law”. As a follow-up to this activity, OHADA is organising, at its Yaoundé headquarters and by videoconference, on Tuesday 18 March 2025, from 09:00 to 13:00 (GMT), an international conference on the following theme: “The Role of Women in the Implementation of Business Law”. The aim of this conference is to present and assess the role of women in the implementation of OHADA law and other branches of business law. This will provide an opportunity to focus on the reforms introduced by OHADA to promote an inclusive economy and the economic empowerment of women, with particular emphasis on female entrepreneurship, governance, business financing, sustainability, the preservation of social peace and the practice of the legal and accounting professions.
