The OHADA Common Court of Justice and Arbitration (CCJA) held its meeting to mark the opening of the new judicial year at its headquarters in Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire) on Thursday 3 October 2024. The meeting provided an opportunity to review the life and activities of the Court during the just-ended judicial year. It was noted that, as at 30 September 2024, the CCJA had handled 322 cases, representing more than the 284 cases processed during the previous year and a completion rate of 103%. No requests for opinions were recorded during the reference period. On the other hand, there was a slight increase in the number of arbitration proceedings, which should experience a real upturn with the ongoing efforts to revitalize the Arbitration Centre. The new judicial year is therefore starting under very positive omens.
