On 3 May 2024, the main groups representing Madagascar’s private sector set up a consortium aimed at bringing together all members of the private, liberal and voluntary sectors to support moves towards Madagascar’s membership of OHADA. The consortium, whose Secretariat is supported by the Association ACP Legal Océan indien, drew up a roadmap that includes awareness-raising activities, training in OHADA law and advocacy actions towards the political authorities.
The Permanent Secretary welcomes these new developments which occur on the heels of his recent visit to the Madagascar and highlight the growing interest of this country in OHADA. He sincerely hopes that Madagascar will join the OHADA family to pursue this fabulous legal adventure that has been unfolding in Africa for over thirty years.
