THEORY AND PRACTICE OF ISMAMIC BUSINESS LAW: CONTRACTS AND SUKUK (BIGINNER LEVEL)

The High Regional School of Magistracy (ERSUMA) of the Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa (OHADA), is organizing in partnership with the consortium Emerging Markets Rating Ltd. – Willionne (EMR-WILLIONNE) a training session on « Theory and practice of Islamic business Law: contracts and Sukuk ».
Introduction : This training session which will be followed by a session devoted to advanced level trainees is an initiation to the theory and practice of islamic business Law related to contracts and Sukuk. The main points hereafter will be dealt with :
Content : Principles, values, limits and issues of Islamic finances;
Main contracts (sale, mandate, partnership, intermediation, insurance);
Typology of sukuk structuration (Islamic obligations);
Inventory, assets and contours of international sovereign sukuk;
Distinction between conventional insurance and islamic insurance known as takaful;
Typology of takaful model ;
Potential and challenges of takaful industry.
Duration/dates : Five (5) days, from February 24 to 28, 2020
