The Permanent Secretary, Prof. Mayatta Ndiaye MBAYE, took part in the first OHADA Young Employers’ Day on 12 October 2024 in Bamako (Mali). This event was chaired by Mr Fousseyni TOGOLA, Technical Adviser, Chairman of the OHADA National Commission, representing Mr Mamadou KASSOGUÉ, Minister of Justice and Human Rights of the Republic of Mali.
Organized by the Organization of Young Employers of Mali (OJEP) and the OHADA Permanent Secretariat, discussions were attended by various stakeholders in business law in Mali, including public institutions in charge of investment, entrepreneurship and employment for young people and women, employers, leading business organizations, the legal and judicial professions and the public and private universities of Mali.
Participants discussed the contributions of OHADA to business development, as part of the ongoing assessment of the economic impact of OHADA law by the business community. The overall coherence of the Organization’s legislative policy was praised, as were the legal resources made available to businesses to facilitate their creation, secure their operation, ensure their expansion, support them in the event of economic and financial difficulties and settle their disputes under the best possible conditions. However, additional efforts are expected from all stakeholders to raise awareness among economic operators, build the capacity of professionals and take incentive measures, in particular to implement the status of entrepreneur.
