Lomé, the capital city of the Republic of Togo, hosted from 10 to 14 March 2026 the second validation workshop of the deliverables of the Inter-Institutional Ad Hoc Committee tasked with restructuring the regulatory framework governing the functioning of OHADA Institutions.
Chaired by the Permanent Secretary of OHADA and attended by the President of the Common Court of Justice and Arbitration (CCJA), members of the Committee examined and amended the draft Staff Regulations of OHADA as well as the draft Statute of Judges of the CCJA.
These deliberations, aimed at strengthening the Organisation’s human capital and enhancing its performance, form part of an internal process for the preparation of normative instruments prior to their submission to the OHADA legislative procedure. Deliverables from earlier phases of the Committee’s work have already enabled the adoption of key instruments, including the Regulation governing the powers, organisation and functioning of the Council of Ministers and the Regulation relating to the powers and functioning of the OHADA National Commissions.
On the margins of the workshop, Professor Mayatta Ndiaye MBAYE, Permanent Secretary of OHADA, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Mr Pacôme ADJOUROUVI, Keeper of the Seals, Minister of Justice and Human Rights of the Republic of Togo and current Chair of the OHADA Council of Ministers. He was accompanied on this occasion by Mr Jean-Marie KAMBUNA NSULA, President of the Common Court of Justice and Arbitration.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on the priorities and activities set out in the roadmap of the Togolese chairmanship of the Organisation, as well as on the prospects for cooperation and forthcoming initiatives in the months ahead.
