CERTIFICATION TRAINING IN YAMOUSSOUKRO

The Regional Higher School of Magistracy (ERSUMA) of the Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa (OHADA), in partnership with the African Legal Support Facility (ALSF) of the African Development Bank (ADB) and the Tourist Development Company of the Lakes Region (SODERTOUR-LACS), is organizing, from March 4th to 9th, 2019 in Yamoussoukro (Ivory Coast), a certification training on the following topics:

Themes/Dates:

1 “Techniques and strategies for drafting and negotiating oil and mining contracts in Africa”, (March 4th – 5th, 2019);
2 “Public-Private Partnerships: how to optimize private financing of public infrastructure and extractive industries in Africa”, (March 6th – 7th, 2019);
3 “Mastering alternative dispute resolution methods in investment contracts in the OHADA area”, (March 8th – 9th, 2019).

The objective of this training is to build the capacity of trainees to improve contractual due diligence and the protection of the interests of stakeholders in oil and mining contracts and other contracts for the construction of public infrastructure. It will also allow trainees to understand the specificities of investment arbitration.

Venue: Hotel “PrĂ©sident” in Yamoussoukro (Ivory Coast)
Duration/dates: Six (06) days, from March 4th to 9th, 2019
Target audience : Executives and managers of companies in the mining and petroleum sectors; executives and employees of ministries in charge of finance and infrastructure; executives and employees of investment promotion structures; executives and employees of legal services/directorates; lawyers; solicitors; business managers; business directors; executives and employees of administrative, financial and commercial departments/directors; contract managers; business lawyers; banking and insurance lawyers; tax experts; chartered accountants; auditors; executives and officials of public administration, private sector, professional organizations, development partners, investment banks, investment funds, stock exchanges, management and intermediation companies (SGI), donors and international institutions wishing to invest in Africa; arbitrators and mediators; academics.

Trainers:

  • Mr. Bakari TRAORE, Barrister at the Ivory Coast Bar, Business Lawyer, PhD in Law, President of the International Institute for Advanced Studies in Corporate Governance (IPGE);
  • Mr. Issiakha NDIAYE, Barrister at the Paris Bar, PhD in Law, Expert of PPP;
  • Mrs Bintou BOLY DJIBO, Business Lawyer, Arbitrator, Mediator, Permanent Secretary of the Ouagadougou Arbitration, Mediation and Conciliation Centre (CAMCO).

This training session is organized with the material and logistical support of the Tourist Development Company of the Lakes Region (SODERTOUR LACS).

  • Complete and send the form by email to the following addresses: ⊁ ersuma@ohada.org and ⊁ olory-togbe.ersuma@ohada.org ;
  • Pay the training fees set up as follows: FCFA 200,000 per session or FCFA 450,000 (for any registration to the 3 sessions/themes cumulated).

A 10 % discount is granted for an organization or a company registration of at least three (03) participants.
Students and the PhD students willing to attend this training will benefit a 40 % discount on the training fees after justifying their status (a scanned copy of student registration certificate in support of the application). All applications shall be sent to the Director General of ERSUMA through the following email: ersuma@ohada.org.

The training fees cover teaching tools and materials, coffee and lunch breaks during the training days. The trip, accommodation, dining fees and other expenses shall be borne by the participant.
