On the sidelines of his participation in the Justice and the Rule of Law Global Forum held in Washington on 25 and 26 June 2024 on the theme “Fostering Inclusive and Sustainable Development”, Prof. Mayatta Ndiaye MBAYE, Permanent Secretary of OHADA, had a working session with Ms Boutheina GUERMAZI, Director of Regional Integration for Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and North Africa at the World Bank Group. Both leaders sized up the implementation of the Project to Improve the Investment Climate in OHADA Member States (PACI) and explored future areas of collaboration.
The Permanent Secretary subsequently met with Ms Anna JOUBIN-BRET, Secretary of the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), in New York on 27 June 2024. This other working session, organised on the sidelines of the 57th session of the Commission, led to the identification of themes and activities of common interest for the harmonisation of international commercial law.
These fruitful meetings are part of the re-engagement process with OHADA’s technical and financial partners, and feature well among the priority missions assigned to the new Permanent Secretary by the Council of Ministers.
