Based in Porto- Novo, Benin, ERSUMA has the following main tasks:
- ensuring the capacity-building and training of magistrates, legal and judicial staff on the harmonized law;
- initiating, developing and promoting research on African law;
- working in conjunction with the Common Court of Justice and Arbitration and Highest courts of Member States to achieve the harmonization of the interpretation and application of laws in all matters falling within the Treaty ,
- Performing any mission in conformity with its status as may be assigned by the Council of Ministers of OHADA or the Board of Directors.
