The Democratic Republic of Congo has decided to adopt a comprehensive domestic normative system for the proper application of the OHADA Uniform Acts. To this end, it has undertaken to identify all the provisions of the Uniform Business Law that require the adoption of national measures, in order to respond to them with appropriate legislative or regulatory standards.
As part of the process thus initiated, a day of reflection was organized on Thursday, October 29, 2026 at the People’s Palace in Kinshasa, on the theme: “DRC – OHADA: completing reforms for a fully effective harmonized law”. After the opening of the work pronounced by Mr. Guylain NYEMBO MBWIZYA, Minister of State, Minister of Planning and Coordination of Development Aid, Prof. Mayatta Ndiaye MBAYE, Permanent Secretary of OHADA and Dr. Karel DOGUE, Director General of ERSUMA, contributed alongside the national experts to the facilitation of the exchanges, under the moderation of Prof. Roger MASAMBA, President of the OHADA National Commission of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
In addition to its proven scientific and technical interest, this day of reflection has an essential strategic dimension in that it made it possible to raise awareness among the various stakeholders as well as parliamentarians (Deputies and Senators), in the effective presence of the Right Honourable Aimé BOJI SANGARA, President of the National Assembly, who delivered the closing speech.
On the sidelines of this day of reflection, the Permanent Secretary was received in audience on behalf of the Head of State by Mr. Anthony NKINZO KAMOLE, Chief of Staff. The discussions focused on various issues related to the progress of OHADA and the role of the Democratic Republic of Congo in the animation of the life of the Organization.
The Permanent Secretary congratulates the Congolese authorities for holding the day of reflection, which aims to guarantee the full effectiveness of the uniform business law in their country. He encourages all OHADA Member States to take the necessary national measures for the proper implementation of the uniform acts.
