RELEASE FROM ERSUMA

START OF THE SPECIALTY DIPLOMA IN OHADA LAW

(DS-OHADA) AND THE OHADA CERTIFICATE IN ARBITRATION (CAO)

The Higher Regional School of Magistracy (ERSUMA) of the Organisation for the Harmonisation of Business Law in Africa (OHADA), in accordance with its statutory missions, hereby informs the general public of the launch of the Speciality Diplomas and Certificates in OHADA Law and the start of enrolment for the academic year 2024-2025.

The Specialty Diploma in OHADA Law, abbreviated DS-OHADA, is a specialty diploma in business law. It is the equivalent of a Master 2 degree. Its aim is to prepare students for professional integration or advancement by building their capacity in specific areas of OHADA business law.

The DS-OHADA is open to anyone who holds:

– a Master’s degree in law or at least 60 credits from a Master’s degree in law;

– a Maîtrise in law;

– a Master’s degree in a field compatible with that of the course.

Admission is by test or file review.

The DS-OHADA course comprises a number of compensable modules totalling 1,200 hours. The course is delivered both on-site and remotely.

The DS-OHADA programme is organised as a vocational training course. It is designed and implemented in collaboration with the socio-professional world, whose representatives are involved in guiding the programmes and participating in the training. It includes theoretical, methodological, practical, and applied courses. Teaching activities will be conducted in the form of courses, lectures, seminars, tutorials, practical work and internships. The DS-OHADA curriculum therefore ensures that students acquire fundamental, cross-disciplinary, pre-professional and professional knowledge and skills.

The OHADA Certificate in Arbitration (CAO) and the OHADA Certificate in Mediation (CMO) are open to anyone holding at least a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent. These are specialisation and capacity-building courses in arbitration and mediation for arbitrators, mediators and managers of arbitration and mediation institutions. They are organised under the same conditions as the DS-OHADA, but with a total time allocation of 600 hours.

The Specialty Diploma in OHADA Law, the OHADA Certificate in Arbitration and the OHADA Certificate in Mediation issued to students are duly signed by the Director General of ERSUMA and the Permanent Secretary of OHADA.
